Details
Mona Lisa is a gorgeous cotton yarn in a variety of beautiful colours.
- It comes in 100g balls with 160m per ball.
- 100% cotton.
- A 4 mm hook or needles are recommended.
- Ice Yarns has not had this yarn for a long time, but now has 21 shades available!!
- Stay tuned, as I aim to have the Mona Lisa available in my online store very soon.
- The label recommends a warm machine wash to 30°c.
- It is labelled as a number 3 weight yarn which is equivalent to an 8ply or dk weight.
My Observations
- Ice Yarns Mona Lisa is a beautiful soft cotton. This is the yarn that made me fall in love with Ice Yarns in the first place. The shades are so beautiful!!
- Some of the newer colours are not as nice as the original so I will be a bit more meticulous choosing colours.
- Mona Lisa is a beautiful yarn to crochet with and makes lovely homewares and being a 100% cotton is perfect for kitchen and bathroom cloths as well.
Pure Cotton - limited colours

Pure Cotton is a very soft 100% cotton yarn.
- It is a worsted weight yarn.
- Sold in 50g balls with 80m per ball.
- There are only 6 colours available at the moment (maybe phasing out??).
- A 4mm – 5mm hook is recommended.
- Although this yarn is nice to crochet with, it stretches out alot!! when it’s wet, but it does bounce back nicely if tumble dried (this may cause a little shrinkage).
