The above placemat was completed with a 3mm hook which gave the mat nice structure. The mat looks beautiful and I didn’t feel like it needed blocking. Find the free Christmas Placemat pattern here.
This water bottle bag was made using a 4mm hook. Once again still some nice structure and the bag was able to stand on its own. Find the free Oasis Bottle Holder pattern here.
I wanted to see the finish of a project using a larger hook, so I made this ‘coaster’ using a 5.75mm hook. The finish is just as beautiful but the fabric created was a lot softer and more moveable. This is a coaster pattern, but using the 5.75mm hook the completed project was 21cm across. Find the free Sakura Coaster pattern here.
My Observations
Circulo Duna is a sturdy mercerised cotton with nice sheen and beautiful stitch definition.
It is very nice to crochet with and is not hard on the hands.
This yarn did not split at all, and out of the 2 balls of yarn I used, I found no joins.
Using the smaller crochet hooks and smaller crochet stitches gives this yarn good structure.
I thought the Circulo Duna would be difficult to crochet with the 3mm hook, but I found it very enjoyable and the hooked slipped so nicely between the stitches.
