Organic Cotton from Ice Yarns is an 8ply blended Turkish yarn.
- It comes in 100g balls with 210m per ball.
- 60% organic cotton, 40% acrylic.
- A 3-4 mm hook or needles are recommended.
- There are 5 variegated shades available in my online store.
- The label recommends a warm machine wash to 30°c.
- It is labelled as a number 3 weight yarn which is equivalent to an 8ply or dk weight.
My Observations
- Ice Yarns Organic Cotton yarn is a lovely, soft yarn perfect for wearables or accessories and around the home.
- I find it to be weightier than other 8 ply yarns. In my opinion somewhere between an 8 and 10ply.
- I love the way this yarn makes up with a lovely fleck throughout.
- Organic Cotton is very nice to crochet with. I did find it splits just a little, but am willing to forgive because it’s so nice otherwise.
- The above square is crocheted with a 4mm hook which created a nice dense pattern. If you desire something with more drape I suggest a larger hook and/or a more open stitch pattern.
